Regular data backup is extremely important. Many times someone brings a damaged hard drive for data recovery and tells me that they usually back up but haven’t done so for a week or two. Just this past week I had two clients that did the factory reset and it didn’t save anything. This is still, mostly, recoverable, but it takes time. Most people are going to experience a drive failure, at least, once. Call and we can make sure you are prepared.
Many times we are called because a client wants their computer made faster. One of the things that need to be checked is to find out if it is the machine or your internet. Since many people only do things that are online, such as email or surfing, they may not realize that the speed issue is their provider, NOT their computer. If you are trying to find out which is the trouble. Open something like Word and type a letter. If everything seems alright then the problem is probably your provider. Contact them to make sure you are getting all the speed you are paying for.
Of course if you would like help with this give us a call. Suddenly everyone you know is getting an odd email from you. It may be just a link to a website or it may explain that you are in a foreign country and need money. While this is worrisome, it isn’t a virus. Your email account has been broken into. You aren’t being targeted. A program that guesses passwords picked you at random and broke in. Most likely you have a weak password.
The best way to avoid this is to have a good, strong password. Get into your account and change the password. Make sure it is AT LEAST 8 characters long and includes, at least three, if not all four of the following elements: An upper case letter A lower case letter A number A special character (@$% etc. Do that and you shouldn’t be broken into again. |
